Class 69: Junior Dog/Bitch
It was lovely to
see a full class of youngsters today, especially considering they were
all bitches. A much needed boost for the breed.
1st
Richardson’s Taylor Nynniaw – 1 year old cream, feminine head atop a
graceful neck. Correct bite and good eye. Nicely laid-back shoulder,
good spring and length of rib, elbows just a little further out from the
ribcage than I would ideally like. Strong loin leading to well angulated
hindquarters. Topline a little high on the hind at the moment but she is
still a baby. Moved well fore and aft with correct drive and enthusiasm.
2nd
Miller and Ryan’s Feorlig Romantica – 7 months old silver, lovely
feminine girl with a super outline – long, low and level. Strong head
with good earset, correct bite and eye. Good reach of neck settling in to a well constructed front assembly. Shoulder and
forearm well angulated with elbows snug to the ribs. Correct length and
spring of rib, strong loin with well constructed hindquarters. Such a
shame that she didn’t want to move well today as she is a very promising
youngster.
Class 70: Postgraduate Dog/Bitch
1st
Miller’s Feorlig Really Wicked – 7 months old silver dog, masculine with
a lot of substance for a baby. Lovely strong head, correct bite and eye;
ears a touch lower than I would like but retaining the proportions
between ear, skull and muzzle. Well-made forequarters, wide and deep
ribcage of the correct length. Level topline leading to a powerful rear
assembly. Moved well although he was a little shaky to start. Needs time
to settle. BPIB
Class 71: Open Dog/Bitch
1st
Curtis’ Brakemill Barnum – 20 months old cream dog, mature in both coat
and attitude. Masculine outline without being overly large, long, low
and level standing and on the move. Excellent head with correct bite,
dark eye and ear placement. Good reach of neck without exaggeration
supported by strong, well-laid back shoulders. Good spring and length of
rib with a strong loin. Hindquarters well angulated and well muscled.
Moved with drive and enthusiasm while retaining the lovely topline he
showed in the stand. BOB, I was very pleased to see him shortlisted in the BIS ring.
2nd
Richardson’s Taylot Learchus ShCM – 4 year old dark silver, showed
himself very well. Masculine outline with a lovely head and neck, just a
shade bigger than 1. Well made through the shoulder with good ribcage
and strong loin. Similarly well constructed hindquarters allowing good,
free movement. He moved with drive but topline was just a little
unsettled on the move today. RBOB
