WEST MIDLAND TERRIER SOCIETY
OPEN SHOW
SATURDAY 14th FEBRUARY 2009
PUPPY DOG OR BITCH (11 entries. 2 absent).
1. Green. DIDILLYBODS FOREST HOPE. Grizzle and tan bitch, 6 months of age, from a strong class. Nice feminine head with keen eyes and correct ears. Little stop to a good muzzle and her mouth had the correct bite with good size teeth. Her front was narrow and she had straight legs with enough bone. She was well presented and had nice small round feet with thick pads. Well ribbed back with strong loin and she was easily spanned and balanced. The best of coats for one so young and loose thick skin. Level topline and a pleasing tail set. Carried herself well on the move with good drive from the rear. I believe this was her first show. BEST PUPPY
2. Girling. BENATTIVO ROSINA. Bitch.
3. Cadman & Dace. JUNCTIONNINE BESCOT BELLE. Bitch.
JUNIOR DOG OR BITCH (6 entries. 1 absent).
1. Davis. HESSLEMERE MISS LEMON. Grizzle and tan bitch. Pleasing head and nice neckline to her withers. Correct shoulder and upper arm angulation. She has a narrow front and straight legs with correct small feet and thick hard pads. Her ribs were well back and she was easily spanned. She was presented today in a nice coat, which a few other good dogs were not, and this had to be taken into account in my placings. Moves and carries herself well.
2. Hollingsbee. OTTERWOOD BECK. Bitch.
3. Morgan. SEXTONMAGIC TAMARIND AT TARALYON. Bitch.
POST GRADUATE DOG OR BITCH (4 entries. 1 absent).
1. Davis. HESSLEMERE HI KARATE. Blue and Tan dog. Broad head with nice dark keen eyes and ears dropping forward against the cheek. There was good strength to his muzzle and he has big white teeth and correct bite. Good reach of neck into correctly placed shoulders and upper arm. From the front he is narrow and straight. He has good length to his body with ribs well back and a strong loin. Easily spannable. He was balanced in hand and would be easily passed to another if required. He was presented in a top coat with silver ticking and had a dense undercoat. Level topline, which he maintained on the move. His tail was set-on well and carried nicely. He has the correct small feet with thick pads. With such construction his movement was faultless, good reach from his front and being propelled along beautifully by well muscled hindquarters with good bend of stifle. Every time I looked at this dog he was on his toes. When he moved he was full of exuberance and had that spark I look for. Today he had to have top honours. BEST OF BREED and he made the cut from what looked like an excellent best in show line-up at this well attended show.
2. Morgan. SPINNEYFORD SILVER POPPY. Bitch.
3. Adams. GENERAL ORDER AT CASAPERRITO. Dog.
OPEN DOG (4 entries.1 absent).
1. Thomas. CH. BYRONS GREENGRASS. Grizzle and tan. A very nice specimen of our breed. Strong head with good muzzle and correct bite. He also had a well assembled front with good straight legs and small tight feet with thick pads. He was spannable and had a good textured coat. He is a nice picture in profile with level topline and good tail set. This dog moved well and was in good fettle. A very good Border, but he was beaten in the end today by the sheer tireless showmanship of my best of breed. RESERVE BEST OF BREED.
2. Lazell. FOXYARD SHROPSHIRE BLUE. ShCM.
3. Spencer. CASNRAY DOUBLE TROUBLE.
OPEN BITCH (7 entries. 2 absent)
1. Girling. BENATTIVO MULBERRY. A strong grizzle and tan bitch, from a class of some good contenders. Powerful, but still feminine in head, with a good muzzle and scissor bite. Nice dark eye and correct ear set. Pleasing outline. She had a well assembled front and moved well. One of the best coats of the day covered this bitch from head to toe. She had the correct rib carriage and was strong in the loin. Although she appeared large I could span her. A good example with a lot to like about her.
2. Hollingsbee. OTTERWOOD ILEX.
3. Girling. BENATTIVO ROCKROSE.
