WEST MIDLAND TERRIER SOCIETY 3/12/11 Although the entry was somewhat depleted by absentees I was very pleased with the quality of those present.Even with small classes there were some very close decisions and these could undoubtedly be reversed on another day. I was delighted when my Best Of Breed was awarded Best In Show.My thanks to those who afforded me the privilege of going over their dogs. PD (3,1a) 1/Guvercin’s Glebeheath Godber. Promising grizzle of 6 1/2 months. Head still to develop but already has good strength of muzzle, correct bite and lovely, large teeth.Well balanced, excellent coat and pelt , well set on tail and very good mover for one so young.BP 2/Pattison’s Westpoint Super Trouper. Nicely sized grizzle of 9 months. Pleasant youngster with typical head and good bite though would prefer shorter foreface.Nice length of neck, fine for coat and pelt and sound enough on the move. JD (4,!a) 1/Guvercin’s Dandyhow Jumping Jack At Glebeheath. Good sized grizzle of 13months with a good double coat and pelt. Masculine head, still developing but has strength of muzzle and a super set of teeth.Lovely narrow front, good angulation front and rear and moved well on good feet. Natural showman who was handled to advantage. 2/Dean’s Cedarhill Beyond The Stars JW. Very close to the winner.18month old rich grizzle.Beautiful head , scissor bite and impressive teeth.Spannable, shown in good coat and sound on the move. Very good angulation, neat feet and well shaped tail. 3/W.Super Trouper PGD (1,a) OD (5,3a) Two excellent dogs, both with much to admire and either of which would have been a worthy winner. 1/Dean’s CH. Cedarhill Authorised JW ShCM. 4 year old grizzle who presents a lovely outline both standing and on the move.Masculine head with dark eye and lovely expression.Nice length of neck leading to good shoulder, well ribbed back, nicely angulated rear and good tailset.Correct double coat, spanned well , moved freely and with drive.BOB and BIS. 2/Stockley’s Foxfactor Pied Piper JW ShCM.2 year old grizzle shown in full, harsh coat.Super otter head with a lovely set of large teeth.Well constructed dog which was reflected in his good movement.Liked his body proportions and just lost out to winner as although spannable he didn’t span quite so easily and was a little shorter in rib.
PB (7,4a) 1/Hyslop’s Baywillow Brown Braid. Neat little grizzle of 11months. Feminine head with correct bite and good skull proportions.Moderate angulation front and rear, well set on short carroty tail. Her sound movement secured her first place. 2/Guvercin’s Glebeheath Miss Jones.Nice blue of 6 1/2months. Bigger than winner, generally well constructed, head developing nicely.Good length of neck, well ribbed back, good tail. Excellent coat and pelt. Movement a little erratic but this should settle with maturity. 3/Studley&Dace’s Falconarch Georji Gal At Studstaff
JB (3,1a) 1/Brannan&Kelly’s Prestige Spirit. 15months grizzle of correct size. Nice length of neck and body, good tail. Typical in head but tendency to fly ears.Shown in good double coat, moved well in profile. 2/Wright’s Oxcroft Route. Light red of 14 months shown in short, tight jacket.Rangier bitch with a pretty, feminine head. A little fine in bone and would prefer better rear angulation but moving ok. PGB (5,2a) 1/Lloyd’s Foxyard Devil In Disguise At Pashkym. Red grizzle of two years.Well-balanced with good angulation front and rear. Correct double coat, nice length of body, short, carroty tail. Strong yet feminine head, correct size and very sound on the move.Nice bitch. 2/Fletcher’s Picer Beersheba At Wadesleia. Attractive grizzle of 19months. Rangier bitch with a feminine head, well angulated front and rear and sound on the move. She has a good coat and pelt and neat feet. Not at ease today.
OB (4,2a) 1/Stockley’s Rhozzum Keynote With Foxfactor JW. Good headed blue bitch of correct size.Nice reach of neck, well angulated back and front and nice length of rib.Good tail, loose pelt and good jacket.Feet good and moved with drive.Attractive but workmanlike.BOS. 2/Fletcher’s Vallemoss Matilda May At Wadesleia. Another nice blue. Leggier than first she is also well balanced and sound on the move. Good feminine head, plenty of pelt . Coat not at it’s best, easily spanned.
