FEBRUARY 2014
BEST IN SHOW JUDGE -
Mr Paul Eardley
"I was thrilled to be
invited to judge Best in Show at the West Midland Terrier Society, which
is a society I am very fond of having attended it for many years.
My very first judging appointment was for the West Midland Terrier
Society when I was a teenager!

I was made most
welcome by the Officers and Committee." Paul Eardley
BEST IN SHOW
I was presented with a
quality line up with several breeds sending through good exhibits which
gave me plenty of food for thought.
There were several I liked which did not
make the cut including the eventual BPIS.
BIS -CURTIS‘
SKYE TERRIER- BRAKEMILL BARNUM – I gave him the Res CC when I judged the
breed at LKA last December and he is now coming to his best.
Super type of Skye with correct balance of
length to height and possesses good bone and substance. Beautiful
masculine head with super ears dripping with fringes. He has a good
topline and presents a lovely outline both standing and moving. Straight
front and shows a clean pair of pads when he goes away from you. Correct
tail carriage and lovely straight cream coat which was well presented.
Should make up this year with room to spare
I would think.
RES BIS-
HEDGES’ STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIER CH SUURISUUN
BOPPINGHAMS BIRULAI –not surprised to see
this lovely Stafford carries his title.
For me the right size and substance, stands
just right and really stood up well to examination.
Masculine head without any coarseness,
coat gleaming with condition and super body
proportions.
Really good hard muscles and moved well and
true in all directions, very impressive and close up for BIS.
BIS 3-BANNISTER’S
BEDLINGTON TERRIER CH MITEYMIDGETS LOOK OF LOVE – Gave this young lady
the CC at LKA last December and my opinion of her still stands.
Ticks most of the boxes for me and was put
down in good order. Well- handled and a good mover.
BIS 4-BROOKES’ SMOOTH FOX TERRIER ZETAMAZ RUMOUR HAS IT –
Still a youngster and he presents a super outline both standing and
moving. Lovely headed dog, tail on top, good proportions, good in rear
and very game.
Should do well.
BPIS -ADSHEAD’S
WIRE FOX TERRIER SHOALHILL GALAHAD – Promising youngster, good outline
and body proportions, typical head and a good mover.
Every time I looked at him was standing
right and is a good shower. Could not be denied.
RES BPIS -BRADLEY’S
IRISH TERRIER MONTELLE ROYAL LEADER – Handsome young man who put in a
good performance here, every time he caught sight of the Manchester
Terrier he arched his neck and used his ears beautifully displaying true
Irish character. Good to go over, nice jacket coming through and ok up
and back.
BPIS 3 -WALSHAW’S
MANCHESTER TERRIER DIGELSA DIVA AVEC JAMARK – Promising Manchester,
shows beautifully and in good hard condition, strode out well.
Will be interesting to see how she
finishes.
BPIS 4 –RICHARDSON’S
SKYE TERRIER TALYOT OPHELIA - A real baby as she was only just 7 months
of age.
Was really taken with her lovely fluid
profile movement and the way she held her outline on the move.
Well handled.
